Was intrigued by the use of ancient Sumerian. You definitely don't see that everyday and it gave the tale a nice, unique flavor.
The ending was so far from norm that I actually had to reread it three times before it totally sunk in. Very well written so as to keep the reader enthused. Excellent twist.
Really enjoyed the story. Incorporating Z.S. theories added depth and validity to the background. Those familiar with Z.S. will enjoy the references.
Thanks for the praise. Glad you liked it. Zechariah Sitchin's works were very good.
Mr. Van Dyke...
I see where many readers voted for explicit sex, myself included. I don't think the majority want pornography. However, i believe everyone wants honesty does that make sense? If you saw my review, you will see i agreed that there are too many "cliches" in the books, we can blame the wife, i always blame mine (kidding). Lastly, i nominated Eva Green for the movie but screwed up the picture, sooy
I must concur with Mr. Branco's assertion that Eva Green would be perfect for this role. She has already played a strong female in other films.
What a wild and crazy imagination you have!!
The book was a lot of fun to read.
It certainly kept pulling me along.
I agree Phil, wasn't trying to be critical, just honest bro.
Just curious, do you have a timeline to the sequel and will you be sending e-mail alerts when it comes out?
The sequel 2288 A. D. is hoping to bereleased Christmas 2015.
Just one other question regarding why Ashlyn couldn't distinguish Steven from Enlil. In the book you speak of Steven liking Ashlyn’s perfume. She said she didn’t wear any and it was her pheromones. The same was true in reverse. Why can’t she tell it isn’t Steven by the pheromones? Enlil is just a copy and not the real thing. He should smell a little sour according to her earlier description.
Hi Leo,...The pheromone effect was subtle. There was a scene where Steven hadn't even noticed it, but now that it had caught his attention, it had his focus.
Ashlyn and Steven are only in the direct presence of one another for a matter of minutes, before the EPILOGUE takes place. And...there were still linger pheromones in the air from when Steven 'had' been on board,...just hours earlier. BUT,...
the sequel gives a deeper explanation,...so it would be a spoiler. Trying to be cryptic... Ashlyn has a certain physical condition in play that jumbles things up. Sorry, I can't explain more.
I guess I can understand why Amazon was a little reluctant. Having said that - Very Well Done! I will read with great interest and enthusiasm anything you care to write (with the possible exception of the Sumerian phone book). I have been reading scifi for over 50 years and I cannot recall anything that caught my interest like this one.
Thanks and hurry up with the sequel
Could not put the book down. Great job.
Thoroughly enjoyed reading the book and was very sorry when it came to an end...as one should be with engaging books.
Several thoughts about the snippet from the coming sequel-
- Steven and Ashlyn can link telepathically and linked right down to their genetic cores. Enlil is not just telepathically blocked; he can never link with her telepathically. Moreover the "fugue" is not something that can be faked even if Ashlyn is pregnant and may be off her "stride for the moment."
- Steven is locked in a damping chamber which tempers some of his powers. Including his energy balls(?). He slowed Ashlyn's space ship with them and they were internally generated. They appeared to be unusual and not something that existed in others...even Ashlyn. Why can't he use them to escape?
- There no precedent for the damping chamber. There is nothing that we have seen on this world that would lead one to believe that such a chamber could be constructed. Other that Eden, this world is not technologically sophisticated. Its inhabitants seem to have inherited what technology they do have from Enki's people.
- Since Ashlyn was virtually killed when Enlil ripped her up in battle, why was Enlil allowed to just reshape himself and walk into the city after Steven had torn his insides up, ripped out his heart and destroyed it. Those sorts of actions would surely have doomed Ashlyn. She was only saved by diverting the regenerator to save her. Enlil had no such support; he just self renewed. All three people were pure bred had similar powers; there was nothing that previously suggested that Enlil possessed see powers that Steven and Ashlyn did not possess. Hence he surely should have died and most assuredly could not have healed and reshaped himself.
-Neat solution in resolving the Renee and Ashlyn dilemma.
-I can well see why you got blowback on the religious aspects of the story. However, if one is not open minded enough to deal with this sort of thing when reading SciFi, one should avoid the genre.
-The overtly visual sex under the waterfall probably went a step too far for most people. It was fun to read, but I can imagine that some, especially women, would find it off-putting.
All of this being said, I really enjoyed the story and certainly hope that you publish the second book by Christmas 2015.
What a awesome novel with a talented author. I am amazed at the biblical story behind-the-science. It kept the whole story in suspense. Its cannot wait for the next book. It would make a great movie in my opinion. Great writing with a great imagination. I see this writer being one of the great novilis of the times.
Just checking to see how much longer before the sequel is released.
The latest update for the release of the sequel 2288 A.D. is slated for June 2016. I know this seems far off but we want to bring our readers an AWESOME sequel. Hoping our readers will agree that it will be worth the wait. Thanks : )
Could you send me a copy that Amazon declined?
